Presentation
After my studies at the Faculty of Medicine in Nancy, which included training periods within the framework of exchanges with the universities of Frankfort and Berlin, and having passed the competitive entrance exam at Dijon's University Hospital, I began my surgical studies.
These two phases were interrupted by military service, which consisted in my working at the 335th Hospital: Hôpital d'Instruction des Armées Emile Roux (Instruction Hospital of the Emile Roux Armies) in Tübingen (Federal Germany, Federal German Republic at the time).
After my internship, which consisted in a general surgery preparatory degree course, I validated this degree through a first position as Clinic Head Assistant to Professor AUPECLE at the anti-cancer centre.
Afterwards, I began my cardio-vascular specialisation under the supervision of Professor VIARD and Professor DAVID of the Dijon University Hospital.
That period, when the 35 hour work-week law had not yet wreaked havoc, allowed me to acquire solid training in this speciality under the guidance of university professors which belonged to another time period, as they believed in serious work, rigour and being available... |
